The Opportunity:

As the Director of Media you will be responsible for spearheading all media buying related initiatives.  Ensuring we have enough leads to match our current demand is the foundation of your day to day.  You’ll work closely with the CEO, COO, and Sales Teams to deploy our internal media budgets to fill capacity, and test/refine media buying strategies to optimize the leads we send to our Advertisers (while staying profitable).

You will also have the opportunity to build a team of mid-level and junior media buyers around you to assist in hitting our growing targets.  You’re in charge of deploying training, bonus structures, KPI targets, leading/managing the mid-level media buyers – who will in turn run smaller “pods” of junior media buyers.

 

What you love doing: (Job Description)

  • Building, testing, optimizing, and scaling several campaigns across a variety of different media buying platforms (Ideally: Native, Social, Search, and Email)
  • Uncovering and reporting large opportunities that exist in the marketplace that our internal teams can help fulfill
  • Run supply team meetings and motivate the team
  • Seek out, establish, and grow relationships with media buyers (this means some conferences/travel required)
  • Help establish, manage, and report on supply team KPIs that feed into our quarterly and yearly production goal track
  • Work with CEO to manage P&L of the supply department
  • Work alongside other channel directors (sales, quality assurance, and operations) to ensure all large initiatives are implemented
  • Plan out and deploy supply incentive programs for our media team
  • Build out a hiring forecast to continually add junior and mid-level media/affiliate team members

 

What you bring to the team: (Skillset)

  • A proven track record of individual, managerial, and director level achievement in your industry (marketing or affiliate industry preferred). Minimum 5 years of senior-level media buying experience, with 3+ years high level leadership experience.
  • Experience working with small startup teams, AND large public companies - and how to marry these types of organizations together to do business successfully
  • Experience with simultaneously running marketing budgets of over 10k in spend per day in the following platforms: Native, Social, Search, and Email (Push-Pop platforms would also be helpful)
  • Experience in successfully running lead generation offers in Insurance (Medicare, Health, Auto are our biggest), but also some experience in verticals we plan on building out: Home Services (Solar, Home Improvement), Financial Services (Credit Repair, Debt), or Legal (Mass Tort, MVA).
  • You understand what it’s like to build a department from humble beginnings – to hyper growth.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills - especially as it pertains to media buying
  • You enjoy business travel and conference networking
  • You are incredibly organized and understand the phrase “What gets measured, gets managed”
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, or turn down a large volume of opportunities quickly and effectively
